Our Autumn Love Story began in the fall of October 2007. The first time we laid eyes on each other was in a mutual friend's dorm room in Cardinal Village. (One of the campus dorm facilities) From the first moment I spotted Jabari, I knew their was something special about him. His smile lit up the room and his presence was like no other. We never held a conversation that night, just small glances back and forth. Being that I was a couple months upon graduating, I told myself that my four years of college has passed and like every girl who dreamed of meeting the "one" they would spend the rest of their life with after college, I figured that ship came and sailed. Upon arriving to my on campus apartment, I thought about Jabari quite a bit. Even though I had NO INTENTIONS of getting serious since I would be moving back to Houston after graduation, I figured making another friend wouldn't hurt. Later that night, I called our mutual friend and asked her to give him my number. She said okay and I waited on the call the next day. I waited...and waited...NOTHING! This was VERY unusual to me, since guys had been at my beckoning call since freshman year, just waiting on the opportunity to have my number! lol I ended up calling her back and she contacted him, only for me to find out that he never got her text. He called later that evening and invited me over to his dorm room. EXTREMELY nervous, I brought along a friend! The feeling must have been mutual, because when I arrived to his dorm, he had one of his fraternity brother's there also!!! LOL We had a blast that night the four of us, laughing and talking. Jabari and I ended up staying up until 6:00am discussing family, life, politics, you name it! We ended up becoming a couple and we were joined at the hip. You would never see one of us without the other! We truly enjoyed each other's company. I was so intrigued by his conversation and overall demeanor, that some where deep down in me, I knew he was the one and God knew also. Now this AMAZING man I met just four years ago will soon be my husband and I can say that even two months before graduating, I am one of those lucky girls who met the "one" for her...
