The day started off like any typical day. We woke up, grabbed some breakfast and did a little sight-seeing. Since it was Jabari's brothers' first time in Vicksburg, I wanted to give them a taste of the rich history the town has.

After sight seeing a bit around Vicksburg, it was time for my parents annual family barbecue! It has become a tradition in our family (since my Dad is the World's BEST BBQ cooker) that the entire family comes together in the summer for a day of fellowship. This day will be one I will never forget. Upon arriving at my Aunt Rose's house, the entire family was called into the dining room so Aunt Rose could make a speech. While sitting on my brother's lap, I was NOT paying attention at all. I joked and whispered back and forth with Steven, not knowing that all eyes were on me. Aunt Rose then said that Jabari had an announcement to make and he stood in the center of the floor. I honestly thought he was making an announcement to thank our family for inviting his family, but that was not the case. He began to say, "So Stacy, we've been together going on four years now and I love you with all my heart. We are on a beautiful journey together and I want to be with you forever and a day..." =-) He then got down on one knee and proposed to me...and of course I said, YES!
